Kendra Wilson

Kendra graduated from the University of Alberta in 1999 with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy. She immediately pursued her post graduate training, doing manual therapy courses, Mackenzie courses for the lumbar spine and spinal stabilization and sacroiliac rehabilitation courses.
In 2008 she received her certification in Dr. Gunn’s IMS: Intramuscular stimulation technique (dry needling for muscle release).
Kendra has worked as therapist exclusively in private practice for the past 12 years, where she specializes in orthopedics and sports rehabilitation.
Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Kendra was member of the Canadian National Alpine Ski team for 6 years. She competed in the World Cup circuit, racing in the World championships in 1989 and 1992, and an alternate member of the Olympic team in 1988. She was ranked 14th overall in the world in 1991.
Kendra has also worked with international athletes from the Canadian skiing and speed skating teams, as well as cyclists and triathletes as a “Strength Training Consultant” prior to becoming a Physical Therapist.
Kendra lives in St. Albert with her husband and four active children, where she can be seen at most gyms, fields and arenas throughout the community.
This past year, Kendra and her family embarked on a six month family sabbatical to Ecuador. It was a special family time full of travel, adventure, volunteering, exploring and truly experiencing a new culture and a different way of life. Kendra describes Ecuador as one of the most biodiverse countries in the world and she feels privileged to have been able to discover all corners of this great country.
Throughout her travels, Kendra also volunteered in Ecuador on the medical mission “Operation Esperanza” (Hope). For one week Kendra helped with the rehabilitation of Ecuadorians after hip and knee replacement surgeries. Another fabulous experience, Kendra is hoping to return again this year with the medical team to volunteer her time to help the people of Ecuador.
As a therapist, Kendra believes in an individualized and “hands on” approach to therapy. She enjoys treating all types of injuries, but is particularly passionate about strength and core stability following any hip, knee or back injury. Her emphasis on education, therapeutic exercise, and proper technique helps clients achieve a full recovery through increased knowledge and awareness.
Kendra is passionate about helping individuals maximize their performance in sports, work and play.
